Self Dining

Not joining the Winemaker’s Dinner?  There are several options you can choose for a meal either in White Oaks or nearby, regardless of when you get in that evening…But don’t forget, the Hospitality Suites are open later on, so you might not want to be out too late!

In the hotel:
PLAY – An informal bar, with a selection of pub-style snacks and small plates.  No reservations needed – just wander in.  Food service to 23.00.
LIV – Relaxing, contemporary fine dining. Reservations recommended, but not essential.  Open until 22.00.

Nearby:
Benchmark – The restaurant of Niagara College Food & Wine Institute, prepared and served by students.  Reservations recommended, or call before going – just 5 mins from hotel.  Open until 21.00.

The Old Firehall – Located, really, within an old fire hall 15 minutes down the road in St. David’s.   Varied menu from casual pub to more substantial fare.  Open until 21.00.

Further Afield:
Silversmith Brew Pub, Virgil – Located in an old Anglican church; local craft brews made on site, and a fine selection of nibbles.  Located in Virgil maybe 15 minutes down the road, just wander on in.

The Olde Angel Inn – Located in the old town of Niagara, maybe 20 minutes away.  Old-style (and inf act quite old) British pub, can be enjoyably raucous on a Friday night, befitting a proper English pub.  Wrangle your way through the crowd for some excellent pints and fish & chips.  Decent whiskey selection too.

Casinos – If you want to spend Friday having some fun at the slots or tables, you have your choice between Casino Niagara and Fallsview.  Just be sure to keep your donation money in a separate pocket from your play money!  Both are in Niagara Falls, maybe 20 minutes away. Check out Casino Niagara or Fallsview Casino Resort.
